The trees have eyes
I was in the forest and I saw how they cried
as the flames stripped away their disguise
the naked trees sighed
"tell me about your poetry!
tell me about all the things you need
in this twenty-first century society
decorated in plastic trees and indifferent
to the worn out bees - don’t you know the honey
you drink doesn’t come for free?
so little can you see of your own stupidity
'the land of the free' is nothing but a failed prophecy.
all these plastic trees!
what are they really, but
lifeless totems of irony that will never satisfy
the need to breathe or feel real beauty?"
The trees have eyes
I was in the forest and I saw how they cried
as they revealed new sides to old stories
the naked trees sighed
“many deaths we must die
so we can keep on living
many visions we must let go of
so we can keep on seeing.”

the book tells of the bones that crafted eve
like it's not a woman who bleeds
the rivers of life into our human sea.
just how long will we sail on this fairytale?
when everyone is tired of man made mythology.
if there is a god
she could look a lot like you
and he could look a lot like me, what if we
were the gods we’ve been dying to see?
its time we create new mythologies.
when sensuality speaks there are no words
just curves and an urge to be seen and
celebrate rounded hips holding holy dirt.
so to every queen, come and be seen
all that you are and all that you’ve always been.
awakened to your own country of wonder
let’s take flight, unravel as we travel
through this new garden of delight.
