lyrics

The trees have eyes
I was in the forest and I saw how they cried
as the flames stripped away their disguise
the naked trees sighed

"tell me about your poetry!
tell me about all the things you need
in this twenty-first century society
decorated in plastic trees and indifferent
to the worn out bees - don’t you know the honey
you drink doesn’t come for free?

so little can you see of your own stupidity
'the land of the free' is nothing but a failed prophecy.
all these plastic trees!
what are they really, but
lifeless totems of irony that will never satisfy
the need to breathe or feel real beauty?"

The trees have eyes
I was in the forest and I saw how they cried
as they revealed new sides to old stories
the naked trees sighed

“many deaths we must die
so we can keep on living
many visions we must let go of
so we can keep on seeing.”
